Shield Accreditation’s mission is to recognize and promote quality senior home care agencies. Your care agency can be recognized for fulfilling our requirements and then promoted through a presence on our website, by referral contact to local Area Agency on Aging, Alzheimer's Associations and Local Hospitals.

People needing senior home care services are often unsure of a new business and may have concerns about the people coming into their home. The Shield Accreditation promotes the ethical and professional standards of our accredited agencies. We also provide several excellent services that encourage knowledgeable and resourceful care givers.

Senior Care Business Services

Our mission revolves around agencies, but those that most benefit from our services are seniors. We encourage businesses to put their employees through a background check which includes criminal record, department of motor vehicles, and a social security number check for residence confirmation. Drug and TB testing as well as fingerprinting are also practices of proactive and professional agencies. While our accreditation does not require these measures, they should be considered for top quality employees. The senior home care services industry needs the standard we have set. That is why we provide several resources to encourage agencies to be a part of Shield Accreditation.
